AI is now part of everyday work. IDC research shows that 97% of North American organizations have a generative AI initiative underway and 95% an agentic AI initiative, yet only 17% of enterprises report measurable outcomes from more than three-quarters of their AI projects.

The market is responding. IDC forecasts active AI agents to grow from 31 million in 2025 to 240 million in 2027, and predicts that by 2029 G1000 organizations that measure human-AI collaboration will have operating margins up to 15% higher than those focused on productivity alone.

IDC, together with SHI, is convening a select group of IT, AI and digital transformation leaders for a candid virtual roundtable on moving beyond individual productivity gains to scaled adoption and business value. Join your peers to benchmark your journey and leave with a sharper view of the decisions ahead.

17%

of enterprises in North America get measurable business outcomes from more than three-quarters of their AI projects.

IDC forecasts 127 million active AI agents in the US in 2027, up from 17.5 million in 2025. In-application agents, built into the software people already use, account for 45% of them, ahead of standalone agents at 27%.

Custom-configured agents make up another 23%, which puts governance and workforce readiness on the same agenda as tooling.
