According to IDC research, only 24% of organizations describe their data as ‘highly prepared’ to support generative and agentic AI workloads, and 47% identify a consistent semantic layer as critical for safe AI. 42% cite data duplication and fragmentation as the #1 issue holding agentic AI back. At the same time, 80%+ of enterprises now say ‘AI agents are the new enterprise apps,’ triggering a reconsideration of investments in packaged applications, and 76% expect to consolidate enterprise application suppliers as agents reshape the workflow layer.
