Overview
According to IDC’s IT and Business Services Survey 2025, more than 70% of Indian enterprises want to outsource more services than before in coming years. Over years, enterprises across domains, have worked with multiple technology partners for the purpose of flexibility, reducing dependency and leverage into specialized expertise. Yet, as enterprises grow and accumulate multiple vendors (vendor sprawl) and technologies (technology sprawl), various strategic and operational challenges start cropping up. Some of the challenges include strategic misalignment, issues in scalability, increasing dependencies, governance and ownership issues, contract complexity, security risks, data silos, hidden and unpredictable pricing.
With AI adoption increasing, enterprises are forced to work with small and niche players which adds to complexity. Hence 54% of India enterprises plan to consolidate the number of service providers they have. The need of the hour is to ‘reduce the clutter’ and ‘gain better control’ over IT landscape and this is where the role of Master Systems Integrators (MSIs) is becoming critical as they can successfully manage & execute large-scale, multifaceted projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
